Heart for Romania

We are currently organising and fundraising for a trip in September to Romania with the Charity Heart for Romania. We are really excited to take a group of mums from our shop community to a gypsy village in Csekefalva to work with mums and families providing support, helpful childcare tips and much needed supplies. This will be a physically and emotionally demanding trip but one we hope will build friendship and a long term connection. These families are the poorest of the poor, with many of the young mums not being parented themselves after coming from a children’s home. Not only will our mums be armed with practical advice but we will also have a mini bus full of children’s clothes, equipment, toys and basic needs like toothbrushes and other toiletries. 

We are fundraising to cover our costs but we hope to have much to spare to support the amazing work Heart for Romania is doing. There are a few fundraising events taking place but if you have any idea’s or would like to get involved in running your own sponsorship event or perhaps you have something you could donate to our raffle, then please get in touch.

Jo Moore & friends are doing a ‘onesie’ challenge on 31st May which involves wearing a Zebra onesie  (and other types!) for a day or more and doing fun tasks. To sponsor Jo text ‘ONSE14 £10 (or £1 or £2 or £5 etc! but maximum £10) to 70070. We will also have a stall near Costa in Leatherhead highstreet, selling new toys, games, clothes, cakes and more. Pop down between 10-1pm.
